Up and down the streets and parks young boys, teenagers, and even adults of all races call out to their friends, “my homie, my brother, my dog, and my n****r.” That last six-letter word that generations before have fought and toiled to abolish is uttered so easily these days. Without thought, reason, and [...]

There is no passion
Greater than your passion
No love
Greater than your love
No sorrow
Greater than your sorrow
And yet here I stand
No fool
Greater than your fool

“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”

There are some things that are never dulled by time, some memories, though random they may be, still bring smiles upon otherwise aged grim faces.
A while back my mother told me of a poem she had learned as a young woman, and though she forgot the name of that poem she never forgot the poem [...]

What happens to a love that you’re unable to explore, that first spark, that, which starts with temptation?
Does it wither away?
Scorched, burned, a wound that’s best left untended? A pain that’s best left forgotten?
Does it remain an unextinguished temptation?
Inappropriate desires, fantasies, reality gone unchecked? Passion fulfilled in dreams?
Perhaps it becomes a self-doubting, lingering [...]

“Everyone has the obligation to ponder well his own specific traits of character. He must also regulate them adequately and not wonder whether someone else’s traits might suit him better. The more definitely his own a man’s character is, the better it fits him.”

“Integrity of Spirit”: What is it?
Is it to know that you could have wronged when no one else save yourself would have known, and then to feel that burden of truth, the guilt at the thought of committing a wrong as if you actually had? To know that you were capable, that you considered, [...]
