The words were human enough but the emotions and mannerism was primitive. The aim for all was the same - to survive and come out the victor. And to do so it seemed anything was said and everything promised.
How many lives will be compromised for the victory, how many banners waved - how many empty promises made?
I am, it seems, a bit jaded by politicians and their politics, for I will not be taken for a fool and be mislead and lied to. In the face of reality pretty words paint a pretty picture and nothing else. I want to see someone address the reality of this country as it stands on the brink of disaster today - address the truth no matter how ugly it is. And then they can flash that charming smile.

"O wave! Plunge headlong into the dark seas,
And change thyself with many a twist and turn;
Thou wast not born for tile solace of the shore;
Arise, untamed, and find a path for thyself."
- Allama Muhammad Iqbal
Very well said. I, too, am completely jaded by politics. You can never take anything a politician says at face value. Ever. And as much as all of the candidates seem to be calling for “change”, I wonder, just how much actually is going to change?
I imagine very little is going to change.
Beakho - Thank you and I wonder the same thing about the world of politics - what, if anything will change?
Paul - I agree, for all the talk going on realistically there will be very little change.
I just wish I didn’t feel so much despair over politics. But not to despair of change would most likely be unrealistic. If it were not for “common people” (as opposed to politicians) I might even despair of humanity. But “common people” have accomplished so much even when the politicians have not.
Yes, I wish the same thing, that politics didn’t cause me so much despair. As for us “common people” there is hope, always hope.
Peace be upon you,
Curious all this racing for leadership for become the head.
‘Do not seek to be the head, for the head aches….’
Don’t be sad
ahhaha
what an observation, Don’t be sad. The races are head aches for the ones who watch ‘em and for the ones who participate. So, yes it is curious. But then again so is the desire for power…
