…and if I could not read or write I would be crippled
the soul of words…
if this sight could not recognize the little shapes I saw before me…
if this heart could not feel their essence as I felt the world around me…
if this mind could not understand their meaning, grasp it’s power…
if this hand trembled at holding the sword of conveyance…
I would fade away and disappear.
I would have no voice
no thought
no mind
no heart
I would be everywhere but still never there
I would linger about
dazed in and out
weaving
stumbling
staggering
groping
lost through life
I would be broken, shattered, scattered
a call lost in the wind
a cry lost in the darkness
blind with sight
deaf with music
I would be crippled
crippled…

"O wave! Plunge headlong into the dark seas,
And change thyself with many a twist and turn;
Thou wast not born for tile solace of the shore;
Arise, untamed, and find a path for thyself."
- Allama Muhammad Iqbal
I recently discovered your wonderful space. Your blog is beautiful. Can you tell me how you got the signature in the post. I’ve been trying to do this and can’t figure it out.
goldenferi - Thank you for your kind comments, and welcome to Bazm-e-Tasavurat!
The signature I’ve inserted after all my originally written work was composed in Adobe Photoshop using a small circular brush. After several tires i picked the one closest to my real signature and shrunk it down to the size i wanted. I then selected it, copied, and pasted it into the program Paint. Once there i saved the file as a JPEG image. Now whenever i compose my own work i just insert the image by uploading it from my computer, and place it at end of each post.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you need any help doing this. I know how frustrating it can be. I always wanted my own signature on my work and after several different methods i figured this out. Good Luck!
As salam ‘aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Indeed we would be lost unless the self we forgot was replaced with Something far grander.
Rafael - Yes, perhaps a greater knowledge than the worldly one we possess.
thanks for the comment on the foto
